Lazytown.

Sometimes, we just need a day to sleep until noon, have the most lunchiest of breakfasts, spend a day with Netflix, and wait for your sweetheart's phone call.

And what better day to do this than the day after Black Friday?

I am going to BN later today (much later) and pick up some foreign Vogues. I must get the lead out when it comes to schoolwork.

Black Friday.

I will never participate in Black Friday again.

I say that every year, but I always come back. It's the thrill of the hunt, I guess. It's like Ebay without having to wait by the window for the postman every day. But this holiday season will be a little...scarce.

Before I begin whining though, Thanksgiving was delicious and beautiful. Waking up late in my own bed, getting to bustle about the kitchen the rest of the morning, romping around in a new apron I made for the KP. And, if I can be so bold as to say my aunt makes the best candied yams ever.

Now that Thanksgiving is done, it's time to fix my gaze on Christmas. This year I do not have a job, am up to my eyeballs in debt, and have a running student-loan tab.

Needless to say, this Christmas is going to suck.

I love handmade goods and always try to give homemade gifts, but handmade still costs something. Materials and whatnot. Some still insanely expensive. And who has the time? And
because I gave into commercialism in the spirit of Black Friday, "I" bought gifts for Billie (my darling boyfriend), and spent a whopping $132.65.

I also closed my credit card this afternoon. Wonderful!

I will never participate in Black Friday again.

Polish the Stars

Somebody has to go polish the stars.
They're looking a little bit dull.
Somebody has to go polish the stars,
For the eagles and starlings and gulls,
Have all been complaining they're tarnished and worn,
They say they want new ones we cannot afford.
So please get your rags
and your polishing jars,
Somebody has to go polish the stars...
